As we grow with age and experience our personal definition of success will likely change as well As children we base our definition off the success we watch or here about but it is unlikely that a child will understand the deeper meanings of success As diverse as our society has become each persons definition of success and idea of how to obtain success differs from others but there are certain insights of success that are becoming universally agreed upon While taking this class and having the text On Course to guide and help me through the semester I have been able to develop my own idea and plan for successTo gain success I need to have a desire or a dream I believe that if a person does not have a desire or a dream to do something than they need take some personal time to connect with their inner self In other words do a little soul searching A little over a year ago after I found myself very much alone after a very long rough break-up in addition to a fallen out with my closest friends I went into what I consider fight or flight mode I felt bombarded with anxiety and stress and the only rational thought that I was able to pin-down in my spinning mind was that I had to get through that particularly difficult situation and I came to terms with the possibility of getting through it by myself Once you have an appreciation for yourself and you have the confidence to do things independently going through hard times alone doesnt seem so bad In fact it was one of the best things that has happened to me I through myself into anything and everything that seemed appealing and little by little I found things to do that made me feel happy and content If someone were
