I have been a Muslim my entire life since the day I was born from where Im from Saudi Arabia everyone is born a Muslim There are five pillars of practice in Islam These practices must be accepted with the best of effort in order to be considered a true Muslim one is Shahadah the declaration of faith in the oneness of Allah and that Muhammad is the last prophet of God Two is formal prayer five times a day Also third is fasting during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan Additionally Zakaah poor-due tax - 25 of ones savings given to the needy at the end of each year Finally Pilgrimage Hajj to Mecca at least once if physically and financially able I personally never have done pilgrimage Hajj but I have given the chance to do Umrah in Makkah twice my whole life with my mother It was exhausting but it was worth it all Umrah is basically a journey to the House of Allah which can be accepted at any time of the year The original meaning for Umrah is to visit a populated place The act of Umrah involves entering into a state of Ihram then performing Tawaf of the Kaaba and the running between Safa and Marwah Umrah is generally known as the minor pilgrimage or lesser pilgrimageI have been raised in a very charitable society which has taught us to give Sadaqah goes to everyone not only for those who are near but also for those who are far Sadaqah is very similar to Zakaah but it is not the same Sadaqah mainly means worshipping Allah by giving money without that being required in shareeah The word sadaqah is sometimes used to refer to obligatory ZakaahOn the other hand Zakaah means worshipping Allah by giving that which he has enjoined of different kinds of zakaah to those who are entitled to them according to the guidelines prescribed
