Describe your career path over the last 5-10 years and explain why the PhD in Education degree is consistent with this path Include your future professional goals and describe how they are consistent with the goals of the Chapman PhD programI have been exposed to the education system in the United States through working in higher education for the past 30 years as well as studying at various US colleges and universities since January 1979 Since then I have seen many schools of thoughts some of which have been quite different from those of my goals and objectives regarding providing education to students both domestic and internationalFor the most part the curricula that I followed for my field of study and educational career were appropriate for the needs of our country However as we advance toward a more globalized way of living we become heavily dependent on foreign products which suggest the need to look at and think of our current educational system differentlyI clearly recall my own experiences including the disappointments Ive had as an international student whose ideas and thoughts were not welcomed but rather devalued and looked down on These depressing experiences were intermittently discouraging for me since they greatly affected not only my but also many others future academic goals and professional careers For some others it may have had an even more negative and destructive effect on their lives Based on the recent and current world affairs the deficits of the existing economic and educational aspects of societies and the lack of communication due to unawareness of the international requirements for world order have become more evident These deficits are causing the international community a great deal of grief and could be remedied through better education and leadership My understanding of the curriculum of this PhD program in Education encourages me to look forward to a
