Network-on-chip has been playing more important role since the introduction of multi-core technology Routing has always been the primary concern for network-on-chip People have put tremendous efforts into this research area and made significant progress However the problem still exists in how to make our network routing more efficient intelligent and less energy consumption This paper is a survey paper of the other four papers focusing in on-chip routing All four papers have brought up new model and mechanism to create a better routing environment for on-chip network Paper 1 Analysis of Application-Aware On-Chip Routing under Traffic Uncertainty 1AbstractCurrently there are different types of routing for on-chip network Similar to integrated circuit it can be categorized by application purposes Types range from general purpose to application-specific oblivious routing adaptive routing flexible application-aware routing and application-aware optimal routing This paper mainly discuss about application-aware routing and possible optimization For now traditional application-aware routing is based on static knowledge and cannot efficiently handle dynamic changes in traffic pattern In this paper authors are trying to use mathematical analysis to create combined routes and get optimal results From their results the performance of using combined routes in all traffic patterns is similar to using specialized routing for just that traffic pattern Problem FormulationThe paper focuses on direct network where each terminal has only one router and they combine one router and one terminal into one node in the model Therefore traffic patterns are modeled as communication between nodes A few terms are defined in the paperTraffic MatrixPattern D It specifies the traffic requirement of the application Dsd represents two nodes where s is source and d is destination Incidence Matrix A It represents the flow constraints of the network For example Aij 1 means there is link from j to i Aij -1 means the opposite and Aij 0 means no link Link Rates Y Y is the rate on each link for the flowsd
