Poor Mans Pasta Plus I stumbled in my front door early this morning just before the sun made its daily appearance and I knew one thing I was starving A quick inspection of my finances made it perfectly clear that take-out was impossible A speedy examination of my dusty cupboard produced one box of macaroni and cheese and a can of golden mushroom soup After finding a package of five hot dogs in the fridge I knew I had the makings of my favorite drunk-food dish Poor Mans Pasta Plus Proper preparation of the dish flavor kickers and continual taste testing were factors that made the meal a success The first thing I had to do to prepare the dish was find a semi-clean pot I found it in the kitchen sink with very little remains of Ramen Noodles Plus another one of my favorites Hoping that the leftover noodles would add to the flavor of the dish I decided against cleaning the pot too thoroughly I filled it about half full of cold water threw in the macaroni shells and placed the pot on the burner set to high temperature Having only one pot in the house I placed four of the hot dogs into the water as well In what seemed like hours but was probably more like ten minutes the water began to boil I used a clean spoon to vigorously stir the contents and keep the shells from sticking to the bottom of the pot Once the shells were at the desired tenderness I dumped them and the dogs into a strainer Next I opened the can of mushroom soup and dumped it into pot Once it finally started simmering I stirred the macaroni and hot dogs into the soup let it cook for about two or three minutes and turned the stove off After the initial preparation it was time to add the flavor
