My sister and I grew up in a white catholic family Both our parents earned a wealthy income and because of this we had a plethora of opportunities provided for us Many people might have called us privileged due to the advantages that were presented to us especially by our school Both she and I went to a strict all girls Catholic school that was one of the best in the state Being best in the state does not come easy the school pushed its students to the limit with its long hours over bearing course load and expectation to go beyond the normal expectations Not only did the school control its students inside but outside of its campus too It taught the girls exactly what they should be that was old fashioned towards her family determined towards her work and confident toward everyone else around herA good woman is a good wife She possesses traits that an old fashion wife would This woman recognizes what is important in her life which is her family Family membership had always been womens most important affiliation Carol Hymowitz and Michaele Weissmen 64 She remembers that her family comes first and is willing to make sacrifices for them For example she puts the happiness of her children before her own She also performs typical housewife duties In their homes women continued to perform their traditional workto cook and clean make clothing and other household goods and care for children Carol Hymowitz and Michaele Weissmen 64 She does not see it as a choice but rather as an opportunity to express her love towards her family She does not do these tasks out of social obligation but out of love and adoration for her family In return she feels the appreciation and admiration that her family has for herWhen a girl grows up she is often seen as successful if she has made it in the work place She
