I hate quotations Ralph Waldo Emerson and I share a common belief regarding quotations There are many types of quotations in this world air quotations documented quotations and movie quotations None of these types of quotes are necessary Another problem with quotes is the misconception that saying an intelligent quote will make you seem smarter to other people Quotes said in this regard come across as unoriginal and uneducated One can learn an entire book of quotes but quite possibly have no idea what the quotes mean The major flaw in quotes comes down to a simple series of questions What is the context in which the quote was said Who said it Do they know what they are talking about I was out walking my guinea pig My guinea pig Roberta was on her little harness walking through the grass occasionally stopping to enjoy some grass She didnt have a care in the world It was a beautiful sunny day last week I had only owned Roberta for about 4 months but she was 10 months old at the time She had begun to grow to full size not quite her maximum size but getting there She was also getting fat We feed her whenever she wants She can call out for food like we can only its with a high pitched chirping sound and not a Hey mom Im hungry Its very interesting to see a persons initial reaction to the noise Anyway Im walking the guinea pig getting all sorts of weird looks from people passing by It doesnt bother me though Im used to weird looks by now who knew Its an absolutely beautiful day My mind begins to wander well it begins on a tangent Well I began thinking of a movie I had seen before O Brother Where Art Thou The film is loo sely based on Homers The Odyssey I recall many lasting scenes from this movie
