Bridget's feedback:
"You've done a good job capturing Takaki's project. However, ideas end up being repeated in a way that doesn't enhance the discussion. I suggest taking a look at your first and second paragraphs and thinking about organization. For example, you explain Takaki's metaphor in both paragraphs. Can you revise this so you introduce the reader to the metaphor once, in an authoritative, clear way that won't need to be repeated later? My other comments are also about tightening up the presentation so your reader can follow the discussion with all the information they need. For example, in your first quotation, your reader does't know who "He" refers to; later, you note that Takaki didn't write the book in 2020--if you want to make a point about relevancy, tell your reader when the book was written for an even more powerful statement. Also related to quotations, the quotation in the second paragraph is not clearly demarcated. Take a look and make sure you have all the quotation marks where they need to be. If all seven lines are a direct quote, you might reconsider using such a long quotation in a one-page paper--you want the bulk of your writing to be your argumentation, not quotation from the source."
