When I hear the word Civility I instantly think of someone being adecent kind polite person with good citizenship I believe we are bornwith these qualities and our parents help bring them out My parentshave always taught my brother and I to appreciate everything we have andeverything they provide for us A way we show our appreciation is bysaying Please and Thank You By saying those few words they goa long way and also show that we are polite and that we are consideratetowards our family A great experience I have had with Civility and people being courteousis college Beginning this new chapter in your life can be rough It isa new campus we all were not really familiar with the layout of all thedifferent buildings so many unfamiliar things it can be quitefrightening The first day of classes I was not the only one nervousabout going to the right location but luckily there were manyupperclassman who were courteous enough to take time out of their day tohelp show new comers around They were not all forced to help us out butthey knew it was the right thing to do I am sure they remember being inour shoes however many years ago and back then someone might not haveshown them around and they wished someone would have I know that nowthat they were courteous enough to show us around that when their arenew freshman on campus when I am a Junior or Senior that I will showthem around and they will look at me with courteousness The past two paragraphs I showed easily how simple it is to recognizewhen people are acting civilly But it is more obvious when someone actsuncivilly What is Incivility Obviously the complete opposite ofCivility Someone who is impolite or uses offensive comments rude orunsociable speech or behavior I had an old boss who was one of thosepeople that as soon as he would walk into the building he would be
