English this year has allowed me to grow and flourish as a writer The techniques and skills that I have adapted in this class will help with future writing In the 6 writing pieces I have worked on this year including Writing Diagnostic Writing for an Effect Portfolio Assignment Personal Piece Of Mice and Men and the Twilight Zone all exhibit the growth I have made this year The portfolio pieces I have worked on this year represent my best writing ability The categories on the grading rubric show my strengths and weaknesses as a writer My effective communication ability is a 3 because although my ideas are expressed they can be presented more clearly in a better fashion In the critical reading category I averaged a 34 I can understand what I am reading but cant always interpret pieces correctly My critical thinking skill is also a 34 the conclusions I draw are accurate but the conclusions could be deeper and have more meaning then I usually present in my work My research skills are a 4 the thesiss I present are accurate and on topic The last category on the rubric is Independent learning where overall I scored another 34 I will answer the question that is asked but rarely do more than what is asked An overall grade for my 9th grade writing career is an average of 90 although not all the categories are perfect the task is always completed This year my favorite essay to write was the Personal Piece The Personal Piece was also the easiest and most enjoyable for me to write The pieces that I could talk about myself and my opinions were much easier and more amusing to write against the ones that I had to interpret other peoples ideas This piece was the piece I am most proud of i worked hard and really thought through the essay and my grade exhibits my
