The game of GLBT life was a fun knowledgeable and rewarding game Each of us started off with 10000 and also received a checkbook to keep track of our money The floor was circled with posters that were written in different colors describing what the person was going through or what the person was receiving and with the amount of money Each person spins the wheel of colors when starting the game and after that the leaders of the game spin the wheel for everyone At the end of the game four people who had the most money and one person who had the lowest money won a prize However the main point of the game was not about who had the most or least money rather it was to examine some difficulties that homosexuals experience especially in economySome of the examples that were mentioned in the game that might affect homosexuals financially are having surgical babies or surrogacy having to pay more health insurance not having a federal protection for occupations Texas is one of the states that does not provide protection not being able to file a joint federal tax return not being able to inherit partners social security and also not having the right to legal marriage Homosexuality is not completely acceptable by the society therefore there are many disadvantages one endures Society draws a line between male and female and expects individuals to act and behave in certain ways and when society examines something different than usual it is mostly considered wrong and unacceptable Many aspects of heteronormativity lead heterosexual individuals to think that there are only two genders gender is invariant masculinity and femininity are natural and not a choice and etc These aspects has put a limit on the societys way of thinking and problematized homosexuality Although homosexuality has come a long way now days there is still much improvement needed to provide same rights for homosexual couples that
