It all started in first grade when it was a normal sunny morning and I was going in Mrs Williams class It smelled like peaches and pineapples and knew it was her perfume It was as if I was able to taste the ripe juicy fruits I then saw unusual boxes lay out in a corner and begin to find my desk Everyones faces are somewhat amazed and shocked I felt the need to laugh with their zombie faces staring at one thing only I look down and see a plastic carton I hold it up to my face and see the worlds most beautiful caterpillar It was a green apple wrapped in a light yellow blank The black lining showed its exquisite texture and the colors looked as if they were balancing on one another It was curiositys fault that I was not able to look away and it was my first time looking at a caterpillar I opened the lid and touched the warm wrinkly skin and closed it back with great haste Mrs William had explained that we were going to take care of them in class There was food next to the caterpillar so we were only able to examine them Days had past by and saw the caterpillar was making a cocoon for its self I felt really happy and I would stare continuously because I never took care of a creature with such divine colors When weeks had passed it was time that it would hatch however mines did not I waited and waited and though it had died but when I heard cracks and shifts I immediately knew that my beautiful caterpillar had hatched It was a sad moment not just for me but everyone who had to let go of their butterfly It was one of those feelings I got when some parent would say goodbye to their son or daughter forever and
