HOLD ON TO SOMETHING When I first saw the trailer to What Lies Beneath I felt like Id seen the entire film This is something I dont like about many trailers and I was annoyed that this film did the same thing Still it looked good and I was excited about seeing it Then began a lot of poor reviews from people and critics who had seen the film at preview screenings My hopes began to fall I have been again reminded why I never read reviews before seeing a film What Lies Beneath tells the story of Claire Spencer Pfeiffer who gets caught in a murder mystery involving a suicidal woman who had an affair with Claires husband Norman Ford Through the use of clever tricks Robert Zemeckis the Director has managed to put a good spooky movie that proved much better than expected and for those who felt the entire movie was told in the trailer think again There are a few good surprises left and many of the seens in the trailer are not actually in the movie Robert Zemeckis a man with talent and who I think is a good Director has a good eye for visuals and keeps the camera moving throughout the film Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford both do good jobs in their role as a married couple While this film doesnt offer much new material for Pfeiffer Fords role is a little short for him He is not in the majority of the film and the entire story centers around Pfeiffer I read in a website that Ford was looking to improve his career by selecting different kinds of roles for himself and working with younger hip writers and directors I guess this film is a part of that career choice because it is a step away from his previous films I do not think it will be a disappointment for any Harrison Ford
