Bridget's feedback:
"You've done a great job keeping the focus on rhetoric; this discussion is enriched by direct reference to the texts and clear examples that help the reader understand how the authors achieve their ends. There is one aspect of the paper's purpose I found a little difficult to parse, though addressing this should be easy: what is the role of Trimble's text in your projects? The first appearance comes in the first body paragraph: "In a similar vein, John Trimble, author of..." This seems to imply a comparison or treatment of both texts as equal in the paper's purpose, but Trimble's work doesn't appear in the introduction or conclusion -- is Trimble's text a lens? providing commentary on Iyer? a compare/contrast? an equal voice in the conversation? Use clear language to establish the hierarchy of your usage of the texts.
Finally, minor errors should be cleaned up with an attentive proofread: while your flow and syntax is strong, such that clarity is maintained, the occasional errors distract the reader and impact ethos."
