A potential chance for Harp SealsThere has always been talk about the controversial matter of stopping the hunt for harp seals and how to resolve the issue But the question is how and why How the millions of sealers seal hunters could be cut short for their strong passion of slaughtering baby harp seals The truth is there really is no way to stop every human that quenches for the thirst of killing But the amount of killing can be minimized by making people more apprehensive of the substantial problem that not only is an appalling matter but the seals are on a slim pathway to extinction Informing more people about the many options each individual has and what they can do to help to stop this cruelty could possibly relinquish the largest mass slaughter of the seal population The slaughter of newborn seal pups is practically pointless Canada barely makes a profit off of the hunt Really Canada gets very little profit from the seal hunt about ten to twenty million dollars most of which goes to skin processing companies and sealing boat captains Canada does not receive much in the way of income and the seal hunt contributes practically nothing to the Gross National Product of the country Plus the hunt is a negative drain on the economy because of tax dollars spent to fund the hunt for harp seals Furthermore Canada receives a large amount of negativity from other countries because of the seal slaughter So why do Canadian fishermen feel the need to keep killing have the sealers considered an alternative to kill for the plush white fur which the baby seals shed after about 3 months Yes in fact a large seal saving organization known as The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has indeed pointed out that As the babies continue to their second stage of growth they begin to molt and lose this outer layer of hair This is
