The death penalty were first developed since the eighteenth century BC Since that time the death penalty has rapidly increase People began to be put on trial for capital punishment first degree murders and crimes robbery and self defense mistakes Many people believed there are numerous reasons to keep the death penalty uphold However there are many reasons that the death penalty should be abolished There is never acceptable reason to take someones Some important reasons why the death penalty should not be allowed is because it is Unconstitutional life in prison without parole is a better option and religious values Firstly the death penalty is unconstitutional No one has the authority to take another person life Even if they committ a crime doesnt mean the Judge has the right to take anothers person life A person may committ a crime because of personal experiences they faced For instance in the case Beets V State Beets had suffered serious sexual physically emotional Abuse as a child and of the hands of her husband when she got older Her Father was an alcoholic and her mother was mentally ill Betty Lou Beets was charged with killing her fifth husband Photographic shows the bruised she had gotten after the abused This led Betty to her husbands She didnt Have the chance to fair trial because the defense federal judge believe Beets attorney behavior violated her right to effective counseling This Shows how the death penalty is unconstitutional Beets didnt deserve to die but to be put in a mental hospital also became an alcoholic which led Beets to will her fifth husband Betty Lou Beets
