"Using the phrasing in the Declaration of Independence to examine the hypocrisy of the United States is a powerful strategy. Your essay makes some excellent points, but it suffers in a few areas.

It's difficult to nail down the focus of your essay early on. You mention a specific time period, but you spend a considerable amount of time discussing issues that span a much wider timeframe.

Some word choices should be revisited. Several sentences are confusing, and phrasing such as "blacks were kids" feels out of place and unclear. (Also, bear in mind that "infamous" has negative connotations.)"
