The way people stereotype skaters make me and my friends mad Some of the stereotypes are they all smoke weed they are all thiefs and they all are stupid and dont do well in school These stereotypes are not true barely any of them smoke weed I have never seen any of them steal from anywhere and my friends and I are all doing pretty decent in school and have no plans of dropping out of college And even though we dont do any of these things we still get stereotyped As I look into the mirror at the eerie fist sized bruise on my hip I think about how I could have made that jump The pain of the bruise does not faze me but the pain of failure does I am a skateboarder I chose this sport because its just fun riding a board and do some flip and tricks We just started a month ago and now we are still growing and a lot more people want to join our small skate team We skate because it is fun and it gets unwanted troubles off of our minds A skateboarder is someone who is dedicated has a unique sense of style and is very courageous Skateboarding is not easy Its like being an artist it is a natural talent Either you are a great skater or a bad skater Of course everyone starts out not knowing what to do but if one is a natural they will pick up the sport very easily Although someone can be good they can be great with dedication They keyword of skateboarding is practice People always thought that skaters are just a bunch of dropouts who has nothing to do in their life But we want to show people or our fellow students that its not what they think We want them to know that we are not just showing off and not attention seekers People
