There is in people a strong will to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the world an intellectual construction where many thrive to create a picture in relation to the questions regarding the way people should live the ethical differences between good and bad and the overall natureorder of the world through the use of beliefs values and practices Through these various worldviews many would argue that there are many similar theories that are still kept alive in the contemporary world from ancient Greece As far as the metaphysical beliefs go on behalf of the Stoics they mainly believe that all things in the universe emerge from an unchangeable and natural law of cause and effect which the universe supposedly requires Zeller 170 This absolute concept which regulates all beings and their becoming is often referred to as destiny Zeller 170 However due to the fact that this destiny is always according to law and supposedly designates rational thoughts it is conclusively labelled as the logos or reason of the world Aurelius and Hays 20 The logos doesnt only operate on individuals as being the faculty of reason according to Stoic beliefs it operates on the universe as a whole as well Aurelius and Hays 20 Furthermore on a cosmic level it is believed to be the very substance that governs the very organization of the world Aurelius and Hays 21 Therefore in that sense Stoics come to the conclusion that the logos is the nature of the world Zeller 172 All-in-all in terms of metaphysics Stoicism thus gives the impression of being fixed on the idea of everything in the world being produced by the logos and that all of its contents are connected just like how all the gears of a clock are moved with the exertion of power of one gearStoics have a rather complex ethical views in terms of whats good However to put it simply the Stoics believe that the highest
