It is true that the key to survival is to be the fittest This has many meanings This ties inwith The Great Depression because most of the people that made it through thedepression where people that worked hard and had good outlooks on the working life This means that a person that doesnt going to give up as easily will not give in to theinhumanity of man If I had to chose where I would during the great depression Iwould live in the city This is because there are many jobs available And by getting asuccessful job I would be successful in life itself This is the whole point of thedepression survival If you are successful and are making enough money to survive thenyou will survive The Great Depression I would not live on a farm out west because of the Dust Bowl The Dust Bowlwas in the states like Kansas and Oklahoma The Dust Bowl wiped out these states andother surrounding states farm land Big dust storms came in and destroyed all of thefarming land and all of the crops The farmers all went in debt and where forced to moveand start a whole new lifestyle The east is where all the opportunity is for work Thereare many factories and hazardous jobs available The hazardous jobs may be the only jobsavailable and when it comes to jobs during the depression the old saying beggars cantbe chosers comes in to play There may be only the worst jobs available to you but youhave to take any job that is available in order to be strong and have a good survival rate Once again I would chose to live in any big city where job offer is better thananywhere else This is because if I get a secure job I can be successful And when youare successful you will survive in this harsh world Most people didnt have jobs duringthe depression and thats why they did
