My life has changed and I wish from the bottom of my heart that I could go back to where I was A young defenseless Moroccan victim of rape has deeply and keenly voiced these words and unfortunately similar words have been uttered by many other Moroccan girls In fact 2 out of 6 people in Morocco are victims in sexual violations Based on those figures you might wake up one day and hear that your friend your cousin or even your own daughter has been sexually assaulted Worse than that is what happens next How would the life as an innocent teenager be different after being violated Unfortunately there is not much recourse for these girls Not only victims of rape experience physical and psychological trauma but because of the laws and current attitudes about rape and never receive justice Teen rape abuse has devastating consequences for victims The high prevalence of teen abuse in Morocco 26 of young Moroccan victims inflict on Physical and psychological behavioral symptoms that can cause death or tempestuous consequences The scars can be deep and long lasting The more subtle forms of child abuse such as neglect and emotional abuse can be just as traumatizing as violent physical abuse Physical abuse involves deliberately using force against a child in such a way that the child is either injured or is at risk of being injured In many cases it happens more than once For those who survive the emotional scars are often deeper than the physical scars This type of abuse includes the following slapping beating whipping and grabbing Burning with cigarettes scalding water punching pinch kick or bite Crying more unable to relax easily frightened fear of sexual intercourse and more Depression shame isolation guilt are also common Raped teens have the possibility to encounter
