The body is a novel written by Stephen King It is about four twelve year old boys who go on an adventure to find a missing boy named Ray Brower Gordie Lachance is one of the four boys and is also the main character of the novel He spends most of his time writing stories and hanging out with his friends in their tree house since his parents treat him like an invisible child Gordie has a very imaginative and caring personality along with his intelligence which he demonstrates throughout the novel Gordie explains why having an imagination like his is not always the greatest because every now and then it turns around and bites the shit out of you you see things youd just as soon not see things that keep you awake until first light 408 Even Gordie is aware of his vivid imagination Also Gordie will think of stories to tell his friends to prevent him from thinking about whatever is bothering him I realized that if I didnt stop thinking about it I was going to cry so I told a Le Dio story made up on the spot 387 This demonstrates that Gordie has a very outstanding imagination because he is able to create a story out of nothingAfter the older boys have left Gordie realized that he should collect the evidence of the gun Gordie says he looked there and after a minute or two I found both shell casings 419 This statement signifies Gordies intelligence because he is thinking about the future and discarding the evidence Also Gordie and Chris studied together through their college courses Chris was finishing his second year of graduate studies while Gordie had been married for a year and a half and was teaching high school English 435 Gordie reveals his intelligence by becoming an English teacher and being a writer on the side because it takes a lot of studying and dedication
