What is enlightenment This is a question which has many different meanings and interpretations Enlightenment seems to be a focal point of many religions throughout the world This means that religions such as Buddhism believe in reaching a higher state of existence From a literary point of view enlightenment is an education that results in understanding and the spread of knowledge while also allowing the individual to transcend desire and achieve complete and total bliss When a person becomes enlightened it is like they have been educated on a whole new way of thinking People who have reached this type of enlightenment are more willing to receive new ideas than before This knowledge would then be shared with others in the hope that they will take this knowledge to heart so that they too may have the same enlightening experience Eventually this would lead to a better understanding by the individual of their own surroundings People have different ideas on what would constitute this kind of enlightenment Some may have a very religious experience and feel that they have been enlightened on their religion Another feels that the day to day knowledge they absorb by communicating with others is enlightening These realizations will help people to become more open and accepting of different ways of thinking and help them deal with the everyday problems that we as humans encounter In the Buddhist religion the final stage of enlightenment is the achievement of full self awareness and inner peace This stage of enlightenment is not attained through any type of machine or chemical but through intense study and understanding of ones self and environment Now the individual will have become one with the mind and body People who manage to reach this stage of enlightenment to the average small minded person are seen as very mellow not much of a care in the world kind of people To a certain extent that is true
