From the famous TV show CSI to the eccentric OJ Simpson case DNA fingerprinting is used to solve crimes DNA fingerprinting is known for identifying suspects from evidences found in crime scenes These processes have been used for countless years in the forensic-science field but are the accused really guilty DNA fingerprinting is used nationwide due to its accuracy in criminal cases However in some cases DNA fingerprinting can falsely identify criminals and further safeguards are neededTo better understand the concept of DNA fingerprinting it is best to know what it is First DNA or Deoxyribonucleic acid is a nucleic acid that carries genetic information in the cell of every living organism DNA fingerprinting or also know as genetic or genomic fingerprinting is an analysis that pinpoints and classifies all the DNA information in each persons cells This means that every person has a unique DNA pattern The pattern consists of chemicals that pairs with each other to generate a code These chemicals are Adenine Cytosine Guanine and Thymine 99 of every human being has exactly the same DNA sequence but theres only 1 of the DNA which is equal to three billion base pairs that is unique to each person DNA Fingerprinting DNA fingerprinting helps distinguish the similarities and differences of DNA between two people DNA is processed by gathering samples of blood hair or even skin DNA Fingerprinting There is a procedure for DNA fingerprinting The PCR or Polymerase Chain Reaction and Gel Electrophoresis are well-known and most accurate practices for DNA fingerprinting The process of fingerprinting will be stated afterward The discovery of DNA fingerprinting would not exist if it were not for an incredible scientist who invented this practiceIts hard to imagine a world without DNA fingerprinting How would we find suspects or victims and most importantly how would a persons biological identity be determined Well there once was a time that there was no such thing as DNA
