Bob's feedback:
"You're off to a good start, and you've identified some of the important events and turning points in the story. However, this essay could use some organization and focus. While it's clear that you're discussing Walker's (and the characters') views on heritage, most of the discussion of the topic is superficial. What does Walker say about heritage, what it means, why it is important, and how its significance differs in the characters' minds? It's not enough to state that the concept of heritage "was explored." Your essay should provide your own analysis of the significance of that exploration. Consider coming up with a specific topic related to Walker's exploration of heritage for each of the supporting paragraphs and make sure you are focusing on that topic within each.
There are also a number of grammatical errors, awkward sentences, and sentence fragments that should be addressed. Discussions of events in the story should be in the present tense. The exception is when you are discussing a specific point in the story and referring to something that happened earlier (e.g., "The protagonist is angry because his neighbor stole his boots.")"
