Knowledge can either harm or aid you in any situation In the Steubenville rape case it did more harm than aid The football players coaches school officials parents and fellow peers knew about the rape of the 16 year old female but did not come forth with any information instead it was posted all over the media It was posted all over Facebook YouTube and Twitter but did not surface to police officials until later The people who knew about this incident should have come forward in the first place instead of letting it escalate The situation could have ended if someone would have had the courage to say something regardless if it was too embarrassing for their football team and as school employees they have a legal contract stating that they have to come forward with any suspected child abuseMany people who witnessed this disgusting incident could have gotten the courage to stand up and tell Tent Mays and Malik Richmond who proceeded to take her away from the party unconscious and barely speaking I do think about how heroic these young people could have been had more of those people in that room intervened and said This is not OK you need to stop this Shes vulnerable and helpless at this point LiskerIntervention of situations like this could have saved a lot of heart ache for the victim and those who were convicted The two men that raped this young girl plastered pictures and videos of the rape and what happened in the hours proceeding and no one seemed to have the morals to stand up for a helpless girl Its understandable that a few didnt even know what to say at the party but it didnt take long for those on the internet to comment and raged about what was posted in the media but still no one reported anything One of the young men that raped the 16 year old girl
