Basketball has become a very popular sport amongst all types of people ranging from high school athletes to the older generation and for most it all began on the neighborhood playground College basketball players play for a school and try to make a name for themselves where professionals play because its their job College basketball has a much different meaning than professional basketball College players are trying to make a name for themselves and get somewhere in life weather it may be in the NBA or have a well paying job College students also have very little personal time for themselves with weekday games a long schedule that ranges between two semesters constant travel and classes Professional basketball players already have a well paying job that ranges between 250000 and 25 million dollars salary a year The professionals only work full time from early October until the end of April when the regular season ends but for those players whose teams make the playoffs they could play until late June All professional basketball players have off from April to October or JuneJuly until October which is a rest period of 5-7 months During these months the professional players have a 4-6 day workout program The atmosphere of a college basketball game is very intense with 70 of the stands being filled by student body 10 NBA scouts and the rest consisting of alumni College basketball rosters have 14 players and between 12-14 of these players have scholarships to play basketball College players get team sneakers and gear provided by companies such as Nike Reebok and Adidas National basketball arenas are very loud and seat about 40000 people Approximately 93 of these people are fans with the rest consisting of owners the media and scouts of other teams Professional basketball teams carry 12 players who wear the uniform of that team and 3 injured reserve players who wear street clothes and only play when one
