Love Romeo and Juliet In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the author shows the love between a couple in a very strong way considering the limited timeline the story covers Shakespeare starts off by showing us the difference between infatuation and love Then Shakespeare moves onto showing the many aspects of love and how hatred and intolerance can strengthen it The views of love showed in this play can translate over to modern day life as well Shakespeares brilliant descriptions of raw human emotions that people can relate to are why his plays are still read today The first signs of Romeos infatuations come while he is at the masked ball He is ranting and raving about Rosaline and how he loves her how she makes him feel and how it drives him crazy not to be near her She hath and in that sparing makes huge waste For beauty starved with her severity Cuts beauty off from all posterity She is too fair too wise wisely too fair To merit bliss by making me despair She hate forsworn to love and in that vow Do I live dead that live to tell it now I i 226-232 Then in the midst of his thoughts for this girl he claims to love he sees Juliet and he gets a different sensation This sensation is different then anything he has ever felt before not just a lustful want like the past women he has been with but a true love at first sight O she doth teach the torches to burn bright It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night Did my heart love till now Forswear it sight For I neer saw true beauty till this night I i 51-60 He wants to know this girl he sees before him and wants to share his soul and the rest of his life with her Romeo from this
