Platonic thought over centuries has been a cornerstone of direction and a basis of free thinking for many philosophers to follow His guiding principles governed by his aristocratic birth and upbringing through his relationship with friend and mentor Socrates and into his divergence from Aristotle in the arrival of ideas dictated a metaphysical arrival to many of his thoughts and ideas Plato believed that many philosophical thought is arrived through and outside a common range of understanding by man This he believed practiced and thought until the day of his death listening softly to the flute music of a young girl as he died During his life however Plato attempted to solve the paradox of inquiry and differentiate between knowledge and belief as evidenced in his dialogs In such Plato argues and arrives at concepts ideas and philosophies pertaining to a sense of recollection or rather simply a remembering of existence prior to the one acting on the remembering Platos arrival at this concept bears the foundation in philosophical and intellectual pursuits of such making his process intention and supposition one that produces a complex process of his thought How then does a human being with only slightly more education and mind expanding experience than his equally affluent peers develop and teach such radical and complex processes Platos process is equally as important as the ideas at which he arrived Within the dialogues of the Meno and the Phaedo Plato demonstrates his view on the doctrine of the Forms Ideas The Forms originate from the word logos meaning a principle of order or knowledge as well as an object of a definition which is universal Heraclitus was the first Greek philosopher to use the word logos in order to refer to a rational divine intelligence the mind of God The Form is unchanging and its that what makes something to be what it is which the essence is The essence of the individual
