During the Holocaust the German treatment and attitude toward the Jewish people the different kinds of torture they suffered and the many survival problems they had in staying alive were their most horrifying moments they could imagine The Jews lived in complete horror All the Jews possession were being taken away the rich became poor as the poor became poorer The Jews had to remain strong physically and psychologically the strong became stronger as the weak became weaker The Germans were turmoil to the Jews The Jews feared German persecution and were powerless to defend themselves Germans determined the Jews life expectancy based on their physical features They were forced for labor while opportunity to work meant a few extra hours or days of living There were malnutrition and starvation Thousands of people suffered illnesses and diseases because of the lack of food The Jews feared death every day in different forms of persecution gas chambers exhaustion starvation and disease Their main goal was staying alive and surviving another day In order to successfully survive the similar horrific circumstances as the Holocaust ones faith must be impenetrable through all obstacles As seen in Elie Wiesels Night one abandoned all family relations and friendships to become completely independent instead of a community Also there were times where the Jews disregarded righteousness as a result of losing faith in God other than maintaining their faith permanently They questioned Gods existence when they were in their worst situation They would desert anything and anyone seen as weak and useless Survival had dominated their minds they would do anything to search for their minimal survival disregarding morality Unfortunately they had failed In the other hand the Jews portrayed in Thomas Keneallys Schindlers List endured the same German persecution but their fate was an inverse Most of them who happened to sustain their faith in Oskar Schindler survived The very first horror the Jews had to encounter was departed from
