Great American Cars Great American cars have changed the major aspects of our lives and rapidly developing world As one of mans most coveted objects and most powerful fantasy symbols the car has always been much more than a machine a mere means of transport and there is no part of our lives--social economic political cultural and indeed sexual--that has not been touched and deeply influenced by the automobile Pettifer and Turner 12 It is easy to see that the automobile has changed in appearance and structure by just glancing at an ad on television However the reasoning that they have changed is because of Americans In turn they have had and still have many influences on our world The demand for automobiles started to go up after they came into existence the auto industry grew since people bought more of them and this gave us more freedom to live work and develop suburbs World Book 946 The automobile is so amazing with respect to the fact that they changed us so drastically What makes the history of the car so compelling is how much it has changed us The car is arguably the greatest catalyst of social change that the world has known It has shaped mans environment created opportunities for work and leisure travel and romance It has also killed and polluted to an appalling degree Pettifer and Turner 108 Little did we know that this new contraption would soon be one of the biggest inventions known to mankind The car has helped the economy greatly Firstly its easy to see that these new machines were going to be mass-produced if there was a huge demand for them which there was If something is going to be massed produced than workers are needed to produce them So the car produced jobs for many people This helps the economy since more of them could now be produced Filling
