The History of the Ford Pinto and the Consequences of the Lack of Safety in Ford's Product Objectives

This paper is an analysis of the Ford Motor Company when the company created the Ford Pinto. When it was discovered in testing that the fuel tank could rupture and burst into flames as the result of a rear-end collision, nothing was changed because as far as Iacocca was concerned, "Safety doesn't sell." Because of this outcome, the author goes into detail about whether or not the Ford Company made a bad choice regarding the Pinto and the results of that choice.
