Emily's feedback:
"Overall you provided good background information about the Manhattan Project and its role in World War II, and you used a lot of statistics that are helpful for supporting an argument. However, most of the essay contains only those numbers and statements of facts, as opposed to focusing on your thesis. You make your thesis clear in the first sentence, but you want to also keep referring back to that throughout your essay. Additionally, make sure you explain all parts of your thesis. The question I am left with is: What were the alternatives for ending the war? However, if you want your focus to be more on the scientific achievements of the Manhattan Project and less on the inhumanity of the bombings, consider reworking your thesis a little bit. I noticed some inconsistencies with your citations as well, both with how the in-text citations are formatted and then how those match up with your works cited page. This essay looks like it uses MLA format so make sure you are following those guidelines. Purdue OWL provides many helpful resources for that. Your essay could also benefit from a round of proofreading to correct any grammar and punctuation errors that sometimes interrupt the flow of the writing."
