Most college freshmen can no doubt recall their high school graduation as being one of the most memorable events of their life It is after all an event that many students have looked forward to for most of their high school years Although there are probably few who werent preoccupied with the next big decision Choosing which college to attend can be one of the most difficult decisions a student has to make The first factor to consider is cost which can be a strain on any budget considering the annual increases of college tuition There are several financial opinions to consider not all of these are available to everyone Some students have no choice other than working part-time in addition to relying on student loans There are a small percentage of students who dont have to be concerned with finances as their parents are blessed with the ability to pay all fees independently A select few receive scholarships but then again not everyone has this option The second factor to determine is a major area of study Considering your college major may lead to further your career it is also a very important decision However the continuously changing job market in the age of technology does not make this decision an easy one Additionally many students fail to realize that obtaining bachelors degree in certain areas may not be as financially beneficial as others may Many social science majors find they must also complete graduate or doctoral programs in order to obtain adequate employment Thirdly deciding on an in-state or out-of-state college can be mind-boggling to say the least Combined with this factor one must consider enrolling into a two-year community college or jumping full-force into a four-year degree program Lacking the ability or confidence to make this decision can be overwhelming to many young adults However there are those exceptional students who have
