As the saying goes A simple hello could lead to a million things but what if were too shy to say hi As an art student we tend to hide behind our work and never really want to come out and engage with the community but as we all know networking is the key to success In this article you will find tips and tricks to get your foot out the door Networking is like an unexplored tool in Photoshop you know it exists but have never really taken the time to learn it Well its time to learn how to use this tool If you start networking while youre in school it could potentially help you land a job as soon as you graduate Some people view networking as hypocritical or possibly even manipulative but were not trying to force ourselves on to people We want to learn to communicate to connect To make it easier for people that are uncomfortable around strangers its best to start with your friends and family Another good source for interaction are your own classmates They might not look like it now but these students are going to be your fellow colleagues or your competition Learning to network is a skill that needs to be exercised on a constant basis This is a tool in relationship building In order to be professional you need to be confident in what you are talking about A great way to ease into a conversation is to go out and do activities you enjoy When you congregate with people that are interested in the same things you are it makes it a lot easier to connect and to have a conversation without feeling pressured Its not always easy going to a networking event to network These types of events might make you feel a little pressure to perform therefore you dont always have to go to exclusive networking events It is
