Proposal assignment Cougar protection Cougars in my eyes are one of the most beautiful animals on this planet Cougars are cute fuzzy and look cuddly but they are not Cougars are pure carnivores and if it wanted a good meal it would eat you If you ever got close enough to see one it probably has been stalking you for hours checking you out The problem here is the cougars population is going out of control in fact there are more cougars in California then there have ever been In the mid 70s it was estimated at about 2400 cougars in California and in the 80s up to 4000 recorded in 1995 there was a estimated 6000 cougars in California With this drastic increase in cougars there could be an estimated 8000-9000 of them in California now Also to add to this there has been more sightings of cougars in rural and city areas for example between 1986 and 1995 their has been nine human cougar attacks in California two of witch have been fatal This problem as been caused because of a ban set on cougars making it illegal to hunt them in California Because of this ban there is little to no way to control their population and stopping them from munching on everything What can we do about this cute fuzzy munching machine population problem The cougar debates are very compelling to me because it has been caused by lack of proper control of the animal and partly because of the brown eye effect I picked this problem because I feel strongly about the fish and game controlling the cougar population better I think that they should bring them back as a game animal or if they have a better way to control their population they should use it I have been taking a class on wild life law enforcement and have been taught quite a bit about the issue I
