How far will Americans go Skinny blonde and beautiful are just some images that haunt women everyday No matter who a person is they are affected by body image Men and women young and old all have their own images of the body It is scary to think that body images are so important in our society There is no escape from it It seems images produced by the media will make people do almost anything to fit Americans standard of the perfect body Images produced by media and the society effect everyone from birth through adulthood all ages in society are forced to deal with the expected body image From the time of birth images of physical perfection bombard the young mind When children are young their minds are fragile and are willing to be molded from whatever they are taught For example one of the first toys a young girl is given is a Barbie doll Young girls are taught that Barbies are beautiful and perfect Eventually when the girls reach middle school they find Barbies image is what they still want to physically achieve but consider talking about Barbie as being childish so they turn to a more life-size Barbie figure such as Britney Spears Teenage girls all strive for the same goal to become what the opposite sex is attracted to Teenagers want to dress and look like young celebrities and to achieve this they wear tons of makeup and dress in clothing that would have made their great-grandparents turn in their graves Now it seems that schools are being forced to take over the parents job Schools are changing the dress code so that girls do not wear clothing that show their mid drifts and bare shoulders The public high school I came from is almost to the point of a school uniform because the dress code is getting so out of
