Wedding ceremonies bring joy and happiness to groom and the bride especially when their family members and friends are showing love and care to the future husband and wife Morocco is a well know country for its amazing wedding ceremonies that present the Moroccan traditions Traditional Moroccan weddings are different from those of other countries and are very special for the brides because marriage is essential in Morocco and in the Middle East in general Moreover Moroccan weddings take a lot of time to be well prepared because they present the special wedding customs that highlight the Moroccan traditions Women and men in Morocco are not allowed to have love relationships Marriage a symbolic respect in the Moroccan culture especially women must protect themselves and give respect to their reputation till the day they get married However virginity at marriage is considered extremely important Monger George 198 In the beginning the man must take the first essential step before marriage When the groom is going to propose to the bride in front of her family he must come with expensive gifts The grooms father and mother must accompany him as a respect for the brides family The two families talk about the marriage proposal and the father or the brother decides whether the marriage is accepted or not After the marriage proposal is accepted by the brides dominant male father or uncle or brother the grooms family and the brides family negotiate in terms of the financial expenses of the wedding and the security deposit that the groom must pay for the bride to insure that in case if the couple is getting divorce the woman takes the money to continue her lifes path In Morocco marriage is an alliance between two families and thus arranged between them but today this does not
