Where did the history of the United States originate The Oxford dictionary defines history as the branch of knowledge that records and analyzes past events One philosopher comments History has a long-range perspective There is no specific point that one can judge exactly where the history of the United States might have begun The avarice for money desire for expansion and even for freedom caused Europeans such as the English French Spanish and Dutch to begin their colonization into the New World These fundamental motives coupled with social and economic unrest that caused a mass migration of variety of Europeans to settle in America Thus it can be said that the history of these groups are also Americas While all the immigration was in process there was a group of people who already existed in America the Native Americans Therefore the history of the United States began by the Native Americans From the time the Europeans had set foot on the New World it was these Europeans who drove the course of history of the United States as well as for the years to come Christopher Columbus was a Spanish navigator who sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a route to Asia but achieved fame by discovering the huge mass of land that no one knew about in 1492 This land was the New World a land where no one from Europe had ever set foot on therefore it is known for the Spanish to be the first to reach America In that period of time Spain was a wealthy nation and planned to earn money through colonization of America As soon as Columbus reported back to Spain about the New World many flocked over to earn a living The Spanish raided the Natives and stole what they had and made money off of that and these Spaniards were known as the conquistadors Other Spaniards moved to Cuba and Spanish Haiti
