Jim's feedback:
"This is a fun story. I have a handful of suggestions to further improve your writing. A sentence on page 2 (“While I kneeled …”) starts to spin too quickly and should be simplified. Not long after, “your” should be “you’re.” In that conversation, the narrator’s quote is followed immediately by that of the other character. We then return to the narrator’s thoughts. To place the characters’ quotes in their own paragraphs would eliminate confusion over which is speaking. Note that a tall glass of water is produced for the character who just gorged on water. The old man recites some lines, each time with a dash and a space. This should be corrected. Lines of poetry are separated with a slash with spaces on either side, or perhaps commas would work here. “Glanced his direction” is missing a word, “lightning” is misspelled, “blades” should be “blade’s,” “frame worthy” should be hyphenated, and “cobwebs” is not. Light may be exuberant, but the word is typically used to describe people. This story is generally well written, but consider running a grammar check to catch these minor problems."
