Teen Abortion in Canada Not since conscription has an issue separated Canadian society so greatly and perhaps never has an issue posed a greater moral dilemma The modern debate over abortion as it is played out in the nations courts and legislative halls is a conflict of competing moral visions and of fundamental human rights to life to privacy and to control over ones own body Nowadays pregnant teenage Canadian women face the tough decision of whether or not to abort the birth of their child The number of abortions performed in Ontario is alarming and it is increasing every year In 1970 there were 11152 abortions performed in hospitals in Ontario and in increased to 106658 by 1995 The society seems not to be concerned of the large number of abortions performed every year Ontario out of all provinces has highest number of abortions - 1829761 Abortions seem the raise the question of morality among all of us considering that more than 98 percent of abortions performed for reasons other than rape incest or danger to the life of the mother We have to be aware of the fact that it has been 20 years since abortion was legalized in USA in the Roe vs Wade trial in 1973 and most people are now aware of the impact that it has on our society Abortion represents a major concern in our society and we believe that often times women do not fully consider the consequences of getting an abortion Christianity has always seen it as a sin as this passage from the Didache says You shall not kill by abortion the fruit of the womb and you shall not murder the infant already born We believe that the decision of having an abortion should not be taken lightly and much consideration should be used before deciding the future of their unborn child According to our research we found out that there are a
