There are many reasons I chose to be an advocate for children The youth of today are our future If we do not help support and teach children now our generation will not have a future Constant improvement of education and technology is needed from generation to generation for our lives to continue to be fulfilled Children provide hope of unity for me through their example Children of all races play together as one when they are younger because they have not been influenced by society They work together play together and support each other to accomplish a common goal When one challenges them the children try to work harder to reach ones expectations Children have many qualities that should not be lost through maturation but rather refined with help from others Preventing this loss of self is what I hope to achieve as an advocate for children There are many children who are living in homes with single parents going to schools with overcrowded classes and playing in unsafe parks As an activist for children I can help some of these children feel better about themselves and their environment by volunteering at schools and cleaning the parks When I was a child I had some hard times but there was one person that was there to listen to my problems and help me I am an advocate because I want to be that special person to whom a child can express them self to Times are getting harder for children because they are introduced to and forced to deal with issues such as drugs sex and violence at a premature age If a child is misled in the beginning and does not have a person to turn to for comfort and advice it may lead to their eventual self-destruction I believe that if a child is taught good self-esteem and moral values earlier in their youth the child will be a great leader in
