The fall of the Beatles Some people think that egos were what did it some people think that Yoko Ono did it some think that Linda did it Everyone has their own theory as to what made the Beatles break up I just think the reason they broke up is that they had been to Mars and back and they had just had enough I think they all still loved their music and they all still loved each other but its a metamorphosis that they went throughDouglas Herbert CNN writer I think that it was a combination of all aspects of their relationships that broke up the Beatles but mostly John and Paul The relationship between Paul and John is one of the things that attributed to the demise of The Beatles There is a letter that went up for auction this year at about 240000 from Lennon to Linda and Paul McCartney in 1970 This letter contains angry mood swings expletives and even kind words from John to Paul John states in the letter that he thought McCartney let his fame get to his head and that he should have started using his fame for something good Of course we changed the world but try and follow it through Get off your gold disc and fly John Lennon quoted in The Herald Sun Oct 5 2001 Lennon also speaks of the MBEs that they received and other issues that came with their fame The letter ends with in spite of it all love to you both from us two Herald Sun showing that there was still some feeling of friendship between them Their songwriting was a catalyst for break up as well Lennon and McCartney were no longer collaborating on songs and there were feelings of bitterness between them From all that we talked about in class Lennon hardly liked anything that McCartney wrote in the later part of the Beatles
