The role of bureaucracy in the Canadian Political System 2 While theoretically the general public expects the Members of Parliament to be in control of the countrys political executive which controls the administration of government or the bure- aucracy the political reality mirrors another picture The political executive seems to be firmly in control of the Members of Parliament to the extent of powerlessness regarding parliamentary decisions and representations of public interest when brought forward by the opposition Consequently when talking about the issue on the division of powers in our political system the bureaucracy plays a subliminal role and does not significantly influence the political happening People have the right to have their Member of Parliament actually represent their interest The Cabinet under the broad authority of the Prime Minister holds the real executive power It is the most powerful organ of government and sometimes the role of citizens and subsequently the Members of Parliament as their representatives can be neglected Currently
