Bridget's feedback:
"You've crafted an in-depth engagement with the novel, and the lens of identity suggests a productive framework for understanding Saadawi's themes and characters. I'm curious if you are able to, based on the argumentation, describe the identity that Firdaus' ultimate fulfills. You touch on elements of gender, power, and transaction. Do these come together in a single, defined sense of self (woman, businesswoman, murderer)?
My confusion on this point may stem from frequent instances of awkward diction. I also notice some clarity problems when the reader has to puzzle out if a usage of "her" (or a similar pronoun) refers to the author or the character, as well as verb tense inconsistencies that make the action of the novel a little hard to follow (default to present tense in this case). Make sure to proofread, catching errors as well as language choices to ensure your argument and ideas come through for the reader."
