A Juilliard trained musician Nathaniel Anthony Ayers who because of his schizophrenia ended up on skid row in Los Angeles I picked this book because it enthralled me The life of a man who is a music prodigy but is homeless seemed to subdue me The idea of Ayerss love for music also compelled me to choose this book because I too have a love for music The astonishing life of Nathaniel Anthony Ayers was inconceivable Nathaniel Anthony Ayers was only able to study at Juilliard for two years but he could still play beautifully and very well Nathaniel could play piano violin viola bass guitar and trumpet Nathaniel was offered multiple scholarships but his mental state of mind made him decline every offer Nathaniel started playing music when he was ten years old and even from that young age Ayers showed great talent openness for learning and love for music Nathaniel was never one to complain but some things could make him very mad If he found the smallest cigarette butt he would wonder why people would even want to purposely kill themselves and other people Nathaniel Ayers started to lose his sane state from about the age of nineteen It started with Nathaniels sister trying to give him some food but he thought she hated him and she wanted him dead so she poisoned his food She did not but that didnt stop him from trying to make her prove it Nathaniel forcibly fed his sister and then she touched him on the shoulder and made him panic and run away from home From that he started to go to Juilliard but he eventually left because he thought people were trying to take his abilities away and that everyone was so jealous of him His reasons were atrocious and impassive but he still left Juilliard anywayI feel that Nathaniel Anthony Ayers and I have quite a few pieces
