The famous story of Romeo and Juliet seems like the ultimate love story but its not all that it seems The story of Romeo and Juliet starts out with two families that have despised each other for centuries What comes out of that hatred are two young teenagers that dont know what is good for them The children fall in love on their first night together and plan to get married just one day after Romeo and Juliets story doesnt end there though it goes onto end with not love but hatred between the families It seems that when love is at it highest peak hatred comes and clashes along side of it Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet demonstrates contradictory relationship between love and hatredRomeo and Juliets love story has two opposing sides When Juliet talks to Romeo over her balcony and says O Romeo Romeo where for art thou Romeo Deny thy father and refuse thy name Or if thou wilt not he but sworn my love and Ill no longer be a Capulet 2233-39 This balcony scene shows that Juliet loves Romeo as a person but despises his name This scene also states that Juliet is torn between her families history and the man who she has fallen in love with She is torn because all of her close friends and her family are Capulets and she doesnt want to betray them Another scene that shows that she is torn between her love and her families hate My only love sprung from my only hate too early seen unknown and known to late15136 In this quote Juliet realizes that the one she loves is the one she hates She regrets seeing Romeo but it is too late because shes already in love This quote is also an example of how Romeo and Juliet are both afraid of the consequences of their love but they know that they cant change that because they both truly
