After my many years of being involved in sports I have discovered that there are many different types of athletes They can be classified by the different reasons they each have for playing a particular sport I have come up with three main classifications The die-hard athlete the stuck up athlete and the just for fun and fitness athleteThe die-hard athlete is extremely dedicated and plays simply for the love of the game They will do anything to improve their skill level as well as the teams no matter what it takes In my case during preseason for soccer I practice twice a day seven days a week even if I am sick tired or just really sore from working out too much One of my teammates Kristen Dochrety goes as far as yelling at our team if she thinks they are not putting fourth a full effort during a practice or a game despite the fact that the most of the gets mad at her for doing so In the end everyone was thankful because that was one of the factors that made us such a great teamThe second type of athlete I can talk about all day the infamous stuck up athlete My definition for this is pretty long First of all this athlete usually in most cases is not that great but yet continually brags about being gods gift to the athletic world Stuck up athletes are also known for doing what ever they can to rack up their personal stats even if it includes hurting the team A great example of this is Kristina DeAntonio one of my former high school soccer teammates Every time she got the ball on the field she would dribble it herself trying to get passed the defenders of the opposing team risking loosing the ball instead of passing it to an open team member all because she wanted to break the school record for most
