In the novel 1984 written by George Orwell the world is run by three similar parties that strive to destroy the concepts of human thought and free will in order to maintain power Every move is monitored by the government and anything but pure alliance is a crime punishable by death The party is constantly advocating itself to perpetuate its goals and values throughout each generation In the novel 1984 Orwell reveals a society which has lost intellectualism and creativity completely differing from the modern day world that exists today Throughout the novel the Party is incessantly altering the past to coincide with current issues and occurrences Outdated books articles songs and propaganda are eliminated and replaced with new ones People who do not share the partys exact current views are tortured into submission and then eventually eliminated With the elimination of the past individuals are unable to know what they have lost They are unaware of the freedom they might have had in previous years The Party rewrites everything to make the people believe that their world has improved over time and that they are lucky to be living in such a wonderful place Could this be true Did their world really improve Todays society however allows any individual to receive accurate information about past history though various text books encouraging instead of discouraging one to know about their ancestors and information relating to previous generations No one changes history to justify mistakes or receive power History is used to learn and excel from Unlike the dishonest and deceiving environment the Proles lived in our society permits intellectualism and creativity While eliminating the past the Party also works incessantly to completely abolish free thought among the people New fast food restaurants better machinery or unique building designs all branch off of free creativity In 1984 free thought is a crime and creativity is an unknown word People who
