It is very important to stay on top of the present and future trends in the food and hospitality industry You want to know what your customers want and expect from you So a little research and effort towards finding what is hot a new is very worth its while After all the research I did I found that the newest and biggest trend is comfort food and more simple dishes I think that people are overwhelmed by all the selections and varieties out in the industry So people want food that they know and understand to be good Some restaurants have already changed their theme to be simple ways of preparing food and not adding lots of ingredients or flavors Since we are getting fresher and better quality ingredients people are wanting to taste the flavor of the product and not all the spices or herbs They also want to prepare the items just using simple procedures and not complex preparations Another trend is that people are eating more in the privacy of their homes Instead of going out and meeting friends for dinner they are having little dinner parties and get together casually I think that this is also from all the demands on customers at these extravagant restaurants There is so much variety and selection in the cuisines that it is hard to know about them all So the people are becoming more knowledgeable about the food and techniques and have higher technology to help them through the process This leads to my next trend which is technology The technology of cooking in the industry and private homes has increased so much and continues to excel I think that it is taking the need from us chefs whether it is in work or at your home It is becoming easier to prepare foods and quicker So people are deciding to stay in and save money and
